  • Parker Ross Memorial Junior Tennis Grant
    The Parker Ross Memorial Junior Tennis Grant was established to honor Parker’s legacy and his love of tennis. This grant is to provide greater access and opportunity for promising junior players who have the raw talent and drive to up their game and need financial support to compete successfully in USTA junior tennis. The Parker Ross Memorial Junior Tennis Grant is awarded annually to two talented players (one girl and one boy) between the ages of 10 and 18, who have demonstrated a commitment to competitive tennis and the desire to become an outstanding player and student athlete. Eligible expenses for the grant include lessons, court time, equipment, and travel expenses to USTA sanctioned tournaments.   • A.H. Sports Hunter Heck and Lynn Bender Wheelchair Tennis Grant
    On behalf of A.H Sports, this scholarship will be awarded to a junior wheelchair tennis athlete 18 years or younger who lives in the USTA / Midwest Section. It is designed to help with funding for athletes in the pursuit of excellence on the tennis court. This scholarship was established to honor the efforts of Hunter Heck and Lynn Bender. The recipient should exemplify persistence, passion, integrity, and leadership skills on the tennis court. Additionally, the recipient should also display these traits beyond the court and pursue activities that help inspire and grow wheelchair athletes.   • Dorothy Kohl Future Star Achievement Award
    The Dorothy Kohl Future Star Achievement Award will be awarded to USTA / Midwest junior female players who are competing as amateurs in Girls 14, 16 or 18 age divisions at the Nation level, The ITF level and / or the professional level. Players must also demonstrate recent progression in ranking or standing.   • Adaptive Individual Grant
    The USTA/Midwest, Inc. (USTA/Midwest Section) is committed to promoting tennis at the local level. One of the ways the USTA/Midwest Section continues to increase Adaptive Tennis participation is through awarding grants to individuals. The Adaptive Family/ Individual Grant is available to families with a child with special needs or individuals who play adaptive tennis, in which they have enrolled in a tennis class or camp. This grant is limited to one grant per family.   • Rajeev Ram Foundation Grant
    Apply for the Rajeev Ram Foundation Grant HERE. Grant Overview Recipients of this grant will receive up to $1,000. This award will be provided annually to one boy and one girl who resides in Indiana and is entering eighth grade in the Fall of 2023, competing in USTA and USTA/Midwest Section tournaments, displaying tennis improvement, and in need of financial assistance. Funding will be provided to pay for tournament and player development expenses which may include airfare, lodging, entry fees, meals, and coaching. Players will complete a grant application which will include a budget for exact use for the funds. Rajeev Ram Foundation was started by ATP player and former USTA/Midwest Section junior player Rajeev Ram. The Foundation raises money for scholarships and supports tennis programs for kids across Indiana. A portion of the proceeds raised through Rajeev Ram Foundation will be earmarked to provide this grant. To be considered for the Rajeev Ram Foundation Grant, players may not have any suspension points or other penalties imposed by any Tournament Committee or other administrative body. Funding: The deadline to apply for this grant is August 31st. All factual information requested on the application must be correctly stated. In addition to the specific factual information requested on the application, the quality of written responses to questions will be considered. Incomplete or untimely applications will not be considered for a grant. Guidelines will be followed unless exceptional circumstances warrant other consideration. A current USTA Membership is required for receipt of a grant. If applicant is not a US citizen, documentation of alien status must be submitted with the application. Applicants are encouraged to seek assistance from their District associations before applying for USTA/MTEF grants. It is the sole responsibility of the applicant to contact their State School Athletic Associations and/or NCAA to determine whether or not the receipt of a grant from The Rajeev Ram Foundation Fund will adversely affect their eligibility to compete on any middle school team or as an individual in a middle school event. Different associations have different rules, and it’s incumbent that the applicant verify his/her state rules. Required Supporting Materials: In addition to completing the application, each applicant must upload/submit: Player’s Biography which includes grade point average Budget specific to grant request for the upcoming six month period (i.e., estimate all travel costs associated with tournaments, all costs with local program) At least one current letter of recommendation from a tennis coach or teacher other than a parent If not a US Citizen, indicate alien status and attach documentation Signed ‘Authorization for Use of Name and Image’ document (see last section of form) If a Rajeev Ram Foundation Fund Grant Is Awarded: •After approval by the Grant and Scholarship Committee, the USTA/MTEF office will contact the recipient, and inform them that if they are playing middle school tennis, that they must contact their State School Athletic Association regarding the parameters of the grant.   • Diversity Grant Individual Player
    Diversity Grants - Closed for 2023. Next Cycle Round Coming in 2024. The USTA/Midwest, Inc. (USTA/Midwest Section) Diversity Individual player grants awarded are intended to assist those within diverse communities in pursuing their tennis-related interests. This grant targets young players (8 to 15 years of age) from racial, ethnic, socio-economic, and LGBTQ+ diverse communities who are starting to play competitive tennis and show a great deal of commitment and potential to become outstanding players. First-time applicants will be given priority over previous grant recipients. This grant will assist those players whose primary barrier to being able to continue to advance in the sport is a lack of financial support based on family resources.   • USTA/Midwest Tennis & Education Foundation Individual Grant
    Established in 1992, the USTA/Midwest Tennis & Education Foundation, Inc. (USTA/MTEF) is dedicated to supporting youth tennis programs, activities, and individuals throughout the USTA/Midwest Section. USTA/MTEF is the charitable and philanthropic entity of the USTA/Midwest, Inc. (USTA/Midwest Section) and has expanded its mission to support programs for specific adult populations including Adaptive Tennis, Wheelchair Tennis, Special Olympics, and Veterans with disabilities.   • Wheelchair Individual Grant
    participation through awarding grants to individuals. The individual Wheelchair grant is designed to assist Midwest wheelchair players to expand their opportunity to play wheelchair tennis and increase their skill level with activities occurring within the Midwest Section. Any funding awarded will be for activities, tournaments, or events within the USTA/Midwest Section territory. Funded activities/items are tournament entry fees, tournament travel expenses, and clinic or camp expenses. Cycle Close Dates: May 1st and August 31st.   • Wheelchair Program Grant
    One of the ways the USTA/Midwest, Inc. (USTA/Midwest Section) continues to increase wheelchair tennis participation is through awarding grants to organizations that promote and develop the growth of wheelchair tennis and use the sport of tennis to build stronger, healthier communities.   • Diversity Program Grant
    Diversity Grants - Closed for 2023. Next Cycle Round Coming in 2024. The USTA/Midwest, Inc. (USTA/Midwest Section) Tennis Diversity Program Grant is available to those organizations who initiate/expand USTA programs, or recreational tennis programs to racially, ethnically, socio-economic, and LGBTQ+ diverse communities. The goal of this grant is to increase tennis participation among adults or youth within these specific groups. Any program registration fee should be reasonable to encourage participation, be affordable for families in the community, and provisions made for interested participants who lack funds. Applying organizations must be open to all people, regardless of race, color, creed, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, citizenship status, or veteran status.   • National Junior Tennis & Learning Chapter Program Grant
    The USTA/Midwest Tennis and Education Foundation NJTL Program grant is offered to provide support for Midwest Section NJTLs. The grant is offered to support new NJTLs or expanding existing chapters. The USTA/Midwest Tennis and Education Foundation is committed to promoting tennis at the local level. To that end, we offer program grants to assist organizations in initiating or expanding their tennis programming activities. Grants may be used to develop instructional programs for players of all abilities and populations. Our long-term goal is to help programs become self-sufficient.   • Community Tennis Association Program Grant
    The Community Tennis Association Grant is available to those eligible Community Tennis Associations seeking to start new or expand existing USTA or USTA/Midwest Section programs. The USTA/Midwest Section is committed to promoting tennis at the local level. To that end, we offer program grants to assist organizations in initiating or expanding their tennis programming activities. Grants may be used to develop instructional programs and/or organized league play for players of all ages, abilities, and populations. Our long-term goal is to help programs become self-sufficient.   • Adaptive Program Grant
    The USTA/Midwest, Inc. (USTA/Midwest Section) is committed to promoting tennis at the local level.   • Anne Krupp Memorial Scholarship
    The USTA/Midwest Tennis & Education Foundation Anne Krupp Memorial Scholarship has been created in partnership with Anne’s family and many of her friends. The scholarship will be presented to one or more USTA/Midwest, Inc. (USTA/Midwest Section) tennis players of any age who need additional training or assistance with travel to participate in Special Olympics and / Adaptive and/or Wheelchair Tennis, display excellent sportsmanship on and off the court and exhibits the true spirit of Anne. This scholarship will be awarded annually.   • Rick Van Horn Scholarship
    The Rick Van Horn Scholarship was established in 2008 in memory of Rick Van Horn, a passionate volunteer at the District, Section, and National levels. This scholarship awards youth players with funding to advance their educational and tennis interests. Each year, a scholarship will be presented to one junior tennis player from the USTA/Midwest Section. The scholarship is designed to provide assistance to those with a passion to work in the tennis industry, have demonstrated financial need, and have shown ability and aptitude as students and as tennis players.   • Richard Bradley Memorial Scholarship
    The Richard Bradley Memorial Scholarship was established in September 2014 in memory of Richard Bradley, a tennis supporter whose volunteer service began at the grassroots level in his community and extended through different levels at the USTA with an emphasis on promoting and growing junior tennis. This scholarship is awarded to youth players for funding to advance their educational and tennis interests. This scholarship is presented to one African American junior tennis player from the USTA/Midwest Section. The scholarship is designed to provide assistance to those who have demonstrated financial need and have shown ability, aptitude, and promise as students and as tennis players.   • USTA/MTEF College Scholarship
    The USTA/Midwest Tennis & Education Foundation (MTEF) College Scholarship was established in January 1998 to reward youth players with funding to advance their educational and tennis interests. Each year, a scholarship is presented to one female and one male junior tennis player from the USTA/Midwest Section. The scholarship is designed to aid those who have demonstrated financial need and have shown ability, aptitude and promise as students and as tennis players.   • Kevin Minor Legacy Scholarship
    The Kevin Minor Legacy Scholarship was created in honor of Kevin Minor, a dedicated husband, ultimate girl dad, and tennis parent. Kevin and his wife raised three elite student athletes who played NCAA Division I tennis and knew all too well the sacrifices that came with it and so easing the financial burden for other families is something that he would love. Kevin believed that it is part of his community responsibility to bless others as he and his family have been blessed. This scholarship will go towards supporting the training and travel for a female, USTA/Midwest Section junior tennis player under the age of 14 and their family.   • Growth Committees
    Development (Standing) Committee Goals: Work with staff, focus on funding opportunities throughout the Midwest Section Sponsorships Committee Goals: Work with staff, help to generate corporate and individual connections that result in sponsorships to help fund our community programming Marketing Committee Goals: Work with staff, review marketing templates and assist with identifying target markets Cultural Outreach (formerly known as DIOR) Committee Goals: Work with staff to embed the DIOR concepts in the Foundation culture and grow the Foundation’s diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of programming and volunteerism Grant Writing Committee Goals: Work with staff to seek out and apply for grant funding for programming from varied sources
  • Executive Committee
    Committee Goals: The Executive Committee shall have general supervision of the Foundation. With authorization by the Board, the Executive Committee may disburse funds acting on behalf of the Board, provided the Executive Committee stays within the general policies and overall budget for the year established by the Board and provided the Executive Committee reports such actions to the Board at its next meeting. Regular meetings of the Executive Committee shall be held as needed. All actions taken by the Executive Committee shall be based on a majority vote of the entire Executive Committee. In even-numbered years, the Executive Committee shall appoint a Nominating Committee of at least five Directors.
  • Operations Committees
    Grants/Scholarships (Standing) Committee Goals: Publicize, evaluate, and distribute funds to individuals and providers who apply to the Foundation while expanding grants/scholarships and continuing to automate/integrate technology Finance (Standing) Committee Goals: Provide oversight and direction for the three standing subcommittees: Audit, Building, and Budget and provide financial guidance for the Foundation Audit (Standing subcommittee of Finance) Committee Goals: Review the audit report to assure compliance and to report to the Foundation Board Building (Standing subcommittee of Finance) Committee Goals: Work with staff and the Finance Committee to assure the integrity and maintenance of the building structure as well as oversee the building as a rental property Budget (Standing subcommittee of Finance) Committee Goals: Work with staff to assure the timeliness of an annual balanced budget and report to the Foundation Board Investment Committee Goals: Work with staff on portfolio oversight Nominating (Standing) Committee Goals: On or before September 1 in even-numbered years, the Executive Committee shall appoint a Nominating Committee of at least five Directors to determine the slate for the election of the Board, the Officers, and the Executive Committee Director-At-Large.
  • Tennis Programming Committees
    NJTLs and Indy NJTL Committee Goals: Work with staff to align the needs of the USTA/Midwest Section’s NJTLs and create new opportunities for funding through the Foundation. CTAs Committee Goals: Work with staff and the Districts to increase registration and funding opportunities for programming from the Foundation Restricted Programming Committee Goals: Work with staff to assure compliance and maximum programming use of restricted Foundation funds from Districts and private individuals Community Impact Committee Goals: Work with staff to analyze statistics from Hello Insight as well as other “captured data” Section Partnerships Committee Goals: Work with the Midwest Section to provide funding for programming funded and supported by the Foundation Wheelchair/Adaptive Committee Goals: Work with staff and the Midwest Section Wheelchair/Adaptive committees to create additional funding opportunities for the Foundation First Service Doubles Committee Goals: Continue to expand and seek additional funding for First Serve Doubles through the Foundation
