Current and Former Grant Recipients Compete at US Open


Several current and former MYTEF grant recipients recently competed in the 2015 US Open Men’s and Women’s divisions as well as Junior divisions. We are proud to acknowledge their achievements on the court including current MYTEF Dorothy Kohl Future Star Achievement recipient Francesca Di Lorenzo from New Albany, Ohio. Di Lorenzo reached the US Open Junior semifinals in singles and doubles.

Congratulations to MYTEF Dorothy Kohl Future Star Achievement grant recipient Francesca Di Lorenzo from New Albany, Ohio, for advancing to the 2015 US Open Junior semifinal rounds in both singles and doubles divisions. Di Lorenzo lost a close singles semifinal match against Dalma Galfi from Hungary 5-7, 6-7. Di Lorenzo also came up short in her doubles semifinal match with partner Luisa Stefani from Brazil as they lost in a tiebreak, 4-6, 7-6, 5-10 against Viktoria Kuzmova from Slovak Republic and her partner Aleksandra Pospelova from Russia.

Also, former MYTEF grant recipient Donald Young advanced to the US Open Men's singles fourth round and doubles third round. Donald lost his fourth round singles match to Stan Wawrinks from Switerzland in four sets 4-6, 6-1, 3-6, 4-6. Former MYTEF grant recipient Rajeev Ram advanced to the US Open Men's doubles third round. Former MYTEF Nicole Gibbs also competed in the US Open Women’s singles division.
