Friends of CICS Tennis

AMOUNT RAISED AS OF NOVEMBER 30 - $8,616

The Friends of CICS Tennis (Chicago International Charter School) and its South Side Junior Tennis Camp was founded in 2007 with the mission to provide high quality tennis instruction to under-served Chicago communities while being a catalyst for developing healthier lifestyles. The program also aims to create a pipeline of tennis players, serving as a gateway to selective high school programs, college scholarships and career choices. The camp offers both summer and fall tennis instruction to beginner and novice players, serving approximately 200 kids.

Although the program has a partnership with the University of Chicago Lab, which allows use of its five outdoor courts at no cost, Friends of CICS Tennis is working to build a year-round program. The organization is seeking funds to support this goal, which includes the cost of indoor courts, staff and equipment.
