AMOUNT RAISED AS OF NOVEMBER 30 - $1,575
The middle school tennis program in Evansville, which consists of practice and match play for eight weeks, gets its funding and administrative support from the Evansville Area Tennis Patrons Foundation. Each season, the Evansville Area Patrons organize match schedules, recruit volunteer coaches for each school, and provide balls and t-shirts to the players. Both the boy’s (fall) and girl’s (spring) programs have evolved over the past 18 years and during the 2014-15 school year, 400 middle school students participated.
Funds generated through the MY Gift initiative will help the Evansville Area Patrons Foundation cover the cost of balls and other equipment, an end-of-year awards party for each school, as well as the $2,500 needed to cover the cost for t-shirts for all participants. Money will also support various other youth programs including tournaments, training sessions and summer camps for kids of all ages.
